Who are the Beat Initiative?
The Beat Initiative is a community and carnival arts production
company, formed in 1993 by David Boyd its Director.
Artists, actors, musicians, dancers and others are employed on projects to deliver workshops and events. The Beat Initiative’s Belfast Carnival has been a highlight of the annual programme, involving up to 1,000 local participants, volunteers, artists and performers from across the city and an audience from home and abroad.
